01

Determine the Cause of Your Problem

At your initial evaluation, we'll discuss your goals, the activities that matter to you, and how pain or movement limitations are getting in the way. Your physical therapist will perform an in-depth assessment to identify the factors contributing to your problem.

Treat the Root Cause

We won't simply tell you to rest and hope things improve. Based on your evaluation, we'll build an individualized treatment plan focused on reducing pain, improving movement, and addressing the factors contributing to your problem.

Return to What You Love

What to Expect

Your first visit at Art of Physical Therapy starts with a one-on-one evaluation focused on understanding your pain, movement limitations, activity level, and personal goals.

Your physical therapist will discuss your symptoms, injury history, and the activities you want to return to. Your evaluation may include:

  • An assessment of how you move
  • Strength and range-of-motion testing
  • Evaluation of the areas causing pain or limiting your performance
  • Movement testing specific to your sport or daily activities

Based on your evaluation, we'll develop an individualized treatment plan and begin appropriate treatment during your first visit. You'll also receive guidance on exercises and strategies to help you make progress between appointments.

Our goal is to help you understand your condition, improve your movement, and return confidently to the activities you enjoy.

Injury Prevention & Sports Performance

You don't have to be injured or in pain to benefit from physical therapy.

For athletes and active adults who want to keep performing at their best, we can use a more sport-specific evaluation to look at your strength, mobility, movement quality, and the physical demands of your activity.

From there, we can identify areas that may be limiting your performance and develop an individualized plan to help you move more efficiently, build strength, and stay active.

A hard truth of life is that we all age; and when we push ourselves as we age things tend to need a bit more attention than they once did. She was thorough in her evaluation and developed a gameplan for a shoulder that was giving me a hard time.
